OUR PROCESS
Our Process
- Design & Illustration
Our shoe designers are true artists, they merge aesthetics, collection coherence, functionality and comfort into one product. The shoe concept in mind, the creative idea is conveyed through sketches and illustrations, they are then passed on to our shoemakers.
- Sourcing
Leather, rubber and other textiles are sourced from the finest tanneries and textile manufacturers. Materials such as cotton can be used to reinforce the leather, providing increased strength and breathability.
- Pattern Making
Our pattern making involves analysis and interpretation of the designer’s concepts and providing the support necessary to create an initial prototype. Our pattern maker’s first concern is to select the perfect shoe and finally, the wooden chassis on which the shoe is built.
- Clicking
“Clicking” is the traditional name for the process of leather hand cutting. During this process, our clicking artisans cuts all the leather pieces necessary to make the linings and the upper.
- Closing
Our technicians perform operations such as hole-punching, edge staining, hand sewing, binding, machine stitching and skiving. The upper and lining are assembled and reinforcements are applied to the toe and heel, which are essential to make the form solid and firm.
- Making Room
The completed uppers are combined with a leather insole. After the insole has been attached to the wooden last, the upper is pulled over the insole to complete the shape-and-fit process.
- Finishing
The experienced hands of our craftsmen addresses any remaining imperfections whilst finishing the assembled shoe. Hot wax is applied to provide a waterproof seal and the heels are attached, trimmed and scoured for a smooth and perfect finish.
Quality Assurance
From design to prototyping, production to shipping, every single process runs through our Quality Checks. We believe,, the critical skill which is required for the shoe making process is to assure the product quality. We follow stringent Quality processes which are in line with the International Quality Standards.
A final quality inspection is performed by our QC specialists, Our specialists run through the whole shoes with strict parameters. Once they approve the quality of the shoes they are then placed into professional shoe packaging essentials such as cotton shoe bags and shoe boxes. Only the finest crafted shoes reach the end of this meticulous process.
